The Sinya coffee table, designed by Sebastian Herkner for Zanat, is a masterful interplay between tradition and sculptural design. The design takes its name from the Bosnian word Sinija, which refers to the low round dining tables that families used to sit around together during meals, often on the floor. That atmosphere of togetherness and exchange is also embodied in this table: a place for conversations, moments of rest, a drink or a snack — simplicity and meeting in one object.

What makes the design special is the division into two possible versions:

  • The three‑top version, with three top segments that together form one table. Two of the tops are crafted with different wood carvings (in relief), while the third top is smooth, creating a harmonious contrast between texture and flatness.
  • The two‑top version, with two interconnected tops, also featuring characteristic shapes and accents.

In terms of dimensions, there are at least two standard sizes:

  • The smaller version (3 tops) measures approximately 105 × 100 × 26 cm (width × depth × height).
  • The larger (2 tops) is about 130 × 72 × 32 cm.

Materials and finishes play an important role in the Sinya tables. They are made of solid wood — oak, walnut, or maple, sometimes colored or stained, oiled or in a white‑oiled oak‑finish, depending on the variant.
