Flexform, Italian craftsmanship that could be the definition of timeless.
Flexform falls into the second category. You don’t choose a Flexform sofa because it looks good in a catalogue. You choose it because you sit in it, feel how the filling behaves, how the proportions are right, how the leather or fabric responds to your hand, and you know: this is it.
At feelathome, we have been working with Flexform for years. Not because it’s a name that opens doors, but because in more than 20 years we have never had a customer who regretted it.
— ALEXANDRA, INTERIOR ARCHITECT AT FEELATHOME
Flexform was founded by the Galimberti brothers in Meda, a city just outside Milan in the Brianza. That region is to furniture what Bordeaux is to wine: a concentration of craftsmanship, tradition, and ambition that is unmatched anywhere in the world.
What began in 1959 as an artisanal workshop grew into one of the most respected furniture houses in Italy. From design to finishing: everything under one roof, to this day.
That Belgium knows Flexform well is not a given. It’s something someone had to decide. That someone was the father of our architect Alexandra.

"For me, Flexform stands for top design you can live in. The comfort is exceptional. For every atmosphere we want to create, Flexform has the right sofa. The sofas can be completely adapted in terms of depth and sometimes even filling to the needs of the user. So really everyone sits comfortably in a Flexform seat."
ELLA
"Flexform is synonymous for me with luxury and unparalleled comfort. The careful construction with high-quality materials not only ensures a refined, elegant appearance, but also guarantees comfort that lasts for years. What really sets Flexform apart is the way different materials are harmoniously combined into a warm and timeless whole. Beautiful examples are the Camelot and Soft Dream sofa, in which details in leather, metal, and walnut come together."
ANKE
"For me, Flexform stands for quiet luxury. No flashy design, but pure class, comfort, and craftsmanship. These are pieces that make an interior softer and stronger at the same time. You just feel that it keeps being right, even after years."
XENIA
In the design world, long-term collaborations are rare. Trends change, studios grow, contracts expire. The collaboration between Antonio Citterio and Flexform has now lasted more than forty years.
Citterio graduated as an architect from the Polytechnic University of Milan. He doesn’t design for photoshoots. He designs for use. "We don't need more objects, just better ones," he once said. You see that principle in every piece that bears his name.
In 2001, Citterio designed the Groundpiece sofa. This year, that sofa celebrates its 25th birthday, and it’s still at the top of what Flexform makes.
The name refers to the work of Donald Judd, the minimalist who took sculpture off its pedestal. Citterio did the same with the sofa: he took it off its legs. Low, wide, directly present in the space. Inspired by the Arabic 'suffah', a raised floor surface covered with cushions.
Three filling options. Dozens of fabrics and leathers. But the proportions don’t change. That’s exactly why it’s still relevant after 25 years.
At feelathome, the Groundpiece is in our showroom. Not as a showpiece. As a sofa we walk past every day, sit in, stand next to. That’s how you get to know a Flexform.
"My favorite piece from Flexform is the Soft Dream sofa. Because of the airy and fine 'floating' platform on which the cushions rest, this is a very light sofa. By working with a corner arrangement and deep elements, you just want to crawl into it."
— ELLA
"The combination of the comfortable, slightly nonchalant cushions with the elegant, light base creates a particularly beautiful balance. I prefer to see it finished with a chrome leg and nubuck details under the cushions.
Because everyone will say Soft Dream, I’ll add another: the Boss armchair. The ideal armchair to completely relax in, perfect for quietly reading a book or lounging with a cup of coffee."
— ANKE
"The Soft Dream and the Crono. Soft Dream has that perfect balance between elegance and comfort. The Crono brings calm to a space, but still has character."

Three people with a different style, a different clientele, a different approach. They land on the same sofa.
"A Thomasje I find very typical and recognizable for Flexform. An icon, sold a lot over the years. And a Mixer, a little chair from the 90s, still stands at my desk. I sit in it very well. It reminds me of my childhood."
— ALEXANDRA
Flexform also has pieces that don’t disappear. They change owners from generation to generation, but they don’t go anywhere.
A chair that has stood at someone’s desk for thirty years and still sits well. That’s no coincidence. That’s what happens when you never let go of production and quality control.

"We regularly receive training from Carine and occasionally get to go to Milan to visit the large showroom and flagship store. This way we see the whole collection and everything gets refreshed again. Flexform also has a very large range of fabrics and materials, so we can put together a beautiful moodboard for every customer."
— ELLA
"We have already had the chance several times to visit Flexform in Italy, so we could experience their way of working and designing up close. This direct acquaintance has ensured that we have not only built up strong product knowledge, but also work with their collections with great conviction and pleasure."
— ANKE
"What I appreciate about Flexform is the reliability. The quality is always right and the finish is correct down to the last detail. Customers feel that too. Those who choose Flexform once often remain loyal to the brand. That says it all for me."
— XENIA
"I know the Galimberti family personally. Pietro was a good friend of my father. A small, very funny and charismatic man. Always cheerful, always with a white t-shirt under his suit.
I once went to lunch with Pietro and Giuliano in their favorite little restaurant nearby. I will never forget how they came by with a trolley with the cooking pots on it and... a cow’s head. That typifies them: good businessmen, but above all family people."
— ALEXANDRA
Flexform is not a brand for everyone, and that’s not an elitist statement. It’s an honest one.
The pieces are expensive. They are expensive because they are made in Meda, by people who know their craft, with materials that last ten, twenty, thirty years. A Flexform sofa is not a short-term purchase. It’s a decision.
As a recognized Flexform dealer in Boortmeerbeek, we guide that decision. We know the collections inside out. We know which fabric category suits a household with children, and which works better in a second home. We know how the Groundpiece relates to a high ceiling, and how the Soft Dream gives space to a compact living room.
That’s not a sales pitch. That’s four interior architects, decades of combined experience, and a genuine love for the brand.
