70's villa with luxury interior and garden in Mechelen – total design & outdoor space

A Modernist Soul, Renewed – Reviving a '70s Villa
This modernist villa from the 1970s underwent a true metamorphosis. The original architecture was treated with respect while the house was prepared to meet today's standards of energy and comfort. From the beginning, feelathome was involved in the total design. The result? A cohesive, cozy, and inviting atmosphere that you feel throughout the entire project. From living room to bedroom, from garden to terrace. The interior, gardens, and surrounding terraces together form one story.
Ease of Use and Comfort
The challenge in this house? The large and open living spaces. By using a warm color palette with authentic materials, the large volumes invite you to cozily take a seat with family, relatives, or friends. In the breakfast nook, we find a custom-made bench and Torpo dining table with two Artifort Beso chairs. Their fabric is washable for ease of use in this family home.
In the spot where the morning sun enters, we recommended a coffee corner. The furniture is beautifully grouped on a round JoV Anke carpet. Like an island in the space. Here the day begins at a low Flexform Fly table, with a semicircular Flexform Guscio sofa and two Flexform Feel Good armchairs. These are swivel and therefore extra comfortable.
Cozy and Warm Family Space
The living space had to primarily become a cozy and warm family space. The dark wall in black brushed wood immediately gives a sense of security. And the choice for a generous corner setup naturally helps as well. The Flexform Groundpiece with its down seat and back cushions invites you to relax.
We complemented the space with a Porada Vera armchair and extra poufs so there are always enough seats for all family members and their friends. The Calvi coffee tables were custom made, with a top of walnut and Halchimia stone. Extra cushions and well-chosen throws complete the whole.
Seventies Vibe
Our interior architects designed the kitchen tailored to the villa. It was made by experienced carpenters.
Walnut takes the lead, fitting the seventies vibe of the house and the interior design. The Porada Biblio wall shelf gives the space a relaxed atmosphere. The residents can store their most beautiful personal collection items on it. The special bar stools are from the Scandinavian Norr11.
Touch of Boutique Hotel
The master bedroom received the atmosphere of a boutique hotel thanks to the fully upholstered bed, tactile wallpaper, and natural bed linen.
Nightstand Poliform Onda in walnut is a nod to the rest of the interior with the recurring use of walnut. The round shape softens the space.
Connecting Inside and Outside
This villa features several terraces and a lush garden. We were entrusted to tackle the design along with the interior, so that inside and outside completely align with each other.
The terrace near the kitchen has been furnished with a generous Dedon Tibbo table. The accompanying Dedon Tibbo chairs with thick, fluffy cushions invite you to chat for hours.
Further along is the seating area with a Tribù Pure sofa. It is equipped with weather- and chlorine-resistant outdoor fabrics. No unnecessary luxury with the pool in the garden. Thanks to the two Gloster Fern armchairs and an extra Paola Lenti Float pouf, there is always plenty of space. In this garden, everyone can enjoy the beautiful weather.
